Sport Lisburn, in conjunction with Lisburn City Council's Leisure Services Department, have recognised the need to identify and develop quality junior clubs in the City of Lisburn. This is why they are actively promoting the Sport Northern Ireland's Clubmark NI Awards Scheme.
Clubmark NI is Northern Ireland's quality standard for junior sports clubs. Sport Northern Ireland is working with a range of governing bodies of sport and Local Authorities (Regional Consortia) to deliver this junior sports club accreditation programme.
The programme aims to identify, develop, accredit and recognise high quality junior sports clubs and the contribution that they make to the development of sport in Northern Ireland.
Sport Northern Ireland value the essential and significant role that sports clubs play in the development of sport. Sports clubs make an impact in sports development by providing outlets for participation, while also providing quality environments for talented young athletes to develop. The competitive opportunities offered by clubs are yet another key opportunity for participation and development.
Junior sports clubs can achieve Clubmark NI accredited status by meeting minimum operating standards in the areas of:
- Effective Management
- Quality Coaching and Competition
- Safety in Sport
