We're ISLAND Arts Centre and we select, create and host a diverse and extraordinary range of local, national and international talent in music, theatre, dance, film and visual art, all under one roof for people of all ages, all year round! In addition, we also bring you a host of outdoor events such as the Mayor's Carnival Parade and Concert in May, Children's Arts Festival in July & August and our Hallowe'en Twilight Night by Fairy Light in October.

Open 5 days a week, from 9:30am to 10pm from Monday to Friday and 9:30-5pm on Saturdays or later on performance or hire nights, ISLAND Arts Centre is fully disability and family accessible and is proud to offer up to 300 free car-parking spaces. (*closed on bank holidays)

ISLAND Arts Centre also offers state of the art hire facilities set in the unique grounds of an architecturally and environmentally beautiful island, which when combined with the creativity of our Arts team, makes the ISLAND the perfect venue for your memorable event.

Our Hire Spaces are:

2 Theatres (410 and 110 seats)
2 Art Galleries
1 Rehearsal Space
1 Dance Studio
1 Pottery Suite
3 Adult Education & Workshop Rooms
2 Dedicated Children's Education & Workshop Rooms
4 Offices for Resident Art Groups

ISLAND Arts Centre is also home to the City's XPLORART Public Art and Sculpture Trail. This wonderful collection can be enjoyed alone or as our guest on one of our free arts centre tours* when you can to delve into the history, design and architectural elements of the ISLAND complex, including its transformation from a linen spinning mill to the landmark facility it is today. (*minimum of 6 people required)

ISLAND Arts Centre has free all day family fun in its dedicated Arts Zone designed for kids and parents to interact together with our exhibitions, enter competitions to win ISLAND goody bags as well as spending time getting lost in books, playing dress up and games or simply relaxing.

ISLAND Arts Centre's Community Arts and Education is our dedicated arts development outreach programme for the City offering a host of Arts Grants, Community Festivals Funding, Peace Programmes, schools liaison and free social development training initiatives as well as a range of urban and rural regeneration projects that support the development of our City as a first class visitor destination.
